Hi, I’m Lorraine…

…a little bit about why I’m so passionate about mental health and the journey I’m currently on.

I’ve always been fascinated by the mind, what makes us think, feel, and behave the way we do. Over the years, I’ve become especially passionate about mental health and wellbeing. When I discovered that 1 in 4 adults in the UK experiences mental health challenges each year, it really struck a chord with me. I knew I wanted to be part of something that could make a real difference.

This passion is also personal. Like so many others, I’ve experienced anxiety and depression myself, and I understand just how overwhelming and isolating it can be. It affects every part of life; how we connect with others, how we see ourselves, and how we get through each day. But I also know that with the right support, change is absolutely possible.

That’s why I’m now training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist - a powerful, positive approach that helps people move forward by focusing on their strengths and solutions, rather than dwelling on problems. I’m so excited to be on this journey and to eventually support others in creating lasting change in their own lives.

Why I Chose Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

I think what drew me so deeply to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy — and what continues to inspire me — is how empowering it is. It doesn’t ask people to relive painful memories or stay stuck in what went wrong. Instead, it gently helps us notice what’s going well, build on our strengths, and reconnect with a sense of possibility.

This approach focuses on hope, not hardship. It creates a space where change feels achievable, and where people can start to move forward with confidence, even when things have felt stuck for a long time.

When we’re in this calm, focused state - similar to daydreaming - the mind becomes more open to new ideas. The part of the brain responsible for rational thinking becomes more active, while the stress response starts to settle. This allows us to think more clearly, feel more balanced, and approach life with a renewed sense of control.
